LIGHT Africa is a consortium of African global health experts whose purpose is to sustainably reduce death and mortality from a range of causes including advanced HIV disease and AIDS through the delivery of community-based health care built on the principals of equitable financing and ownership.

Our members include local research and implementation leads, supply chain experts and representatives from civil society and Ministries of health working united together. Our current members are from Malawi, Uganda, Kenya, Nigeria and South Africa.

What does Light Africa do?

Light Africa strengthens health systems across Africa connecting; Civil society, Ministries of Health, Facility Leaders, Local Researchers and Implementation Leaders.

We prioritise African leadership-led health system strengthening in resource limited settings using existing and new effective technologies and tailored education platforms for front-line healthcare workers and laboratory technicians.
 

Who are your members?

Our members include African leaders in the fields of clinical and implementation research, advocacy, policy, health economics, social science, education and health system strengthening.  EU-, UK- and US-based members with specialised expertise provide support in the above fields as required.

What is your purpose?

The purpose of Light Africa is to strengthen relationships between African research and clinical leaders, Ministry of Health (MOH) and civil society to form united fronts in discussions with global health donors, implementing partners and policy makers on global health priorities and projects that will be pan-African led.
